Biography

I graduated from Jagiellonian University, Krakow, one of the oldest archaeology departments in Central Europe. Following this, I completed an M.Phil Degree at the University of Cambridge, Girton College. My MPhil thesis, supervised by Prof Martin Millett, looked at auxiliary commanding officers’ houses in Britain. Later, I obtained a fully funded PhD position and the post of a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Leicester. I finished my PhD in 2015 and later worked in university outreach and widening participation at the University of Leicester and later oversaw development of research impact and REF Impact submission at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nottingham, where I also acted as a regional curator for Nottingham’s editions of the Being Human Festival. During my time at Nottingham I  taught PhD students through Researcher Academy,  and MA Students on Faculty-wide modules. My work included mentoring academics, and tutoring colleagues as part of the Faculty of Arts Research Leadership Programme.

In 2022, I was seconded to AHRC City of Caves Project, part of the AHRC Place-based KE programme, where I acted as a Community Archaeology Liaison Officer and oversaw public engagement and Nottingham City of Caves Stakeholder Group. In 2024, I was awarded the British Institute of Libyan and North African Studies Postdoctoral Writing Fellowship to work on my monograph.

I hold the positions of Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Leicester, at the Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham and at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at Newcastle University.

I am currently a fellow at the Institute of Classical Studies, London. Find out more about the project below.
